Getting started. You will need a browser installed on your system in order to operate this CD-ROM. If you do not have one you can purchase a copy or download one from the internet. Microsoft Explorer: www.microsoft.com Netscape Navigator: www.netscape.com The procedures listed below will create a bookmark or favorites link that you can use to access the Developers' Insight CD-ROM. You do not need to be connected to the internet to use the CD. NETSCAPE BROWSER: To operate this CD using a Netscape browser, perform the following: 1) Launch Netscape browser 2) From the FILE menu, choose OPEN FILE. An OPEN dialog box will appear. 3) Select the drive that corresponds to your CD-ROM drive. 4) Select the file "index.htm" 5) Click the OK button. You may now add the CD to your bookmarks. You are now operating off the CD-ROM. You can use the CD-ROM exactly as if you were on Intel's world wide web site. INTERNET EXPLORER: Microsoft's Internet Explorer has a feature that allows it to act as a desktop when internet connectivity is not present. Perform the following instructions to add the CD-ROM to your list of favorites, allowing the CD-ROM to be used at any time. 1) Launch Internet Explorer 2) From the FAVORITES menu item, choose "Add to Favorites" 3) Enter the favorites name, such as "Intel's Developers'Insight CD" and click OK. 4) From the FAVORITES menu item, choose "Organize Favorites" 5) From the list, select and right click the item you just created. 6) Select properties, and then the Internet Shortcuts tab. 7) In the Target URL field, enter "file:///d|/index.htm". Use your CD-ROM drive letter, in this example, the CD-ROM drive is drive D. 8) End the process by clicking Apply, then OK, followed by Close. The CD is now on your favorites list.
